I have taken a decision recently not to talk about our current Aardvark lineup, as the last two times I have done so have not worked out so well. Suffice it to say that there will be new faces when you next come in. They are all here legitimately (our accountants have advised us that we now have to check passports of all employees lest they are dangerous international do-badders), and we are very glad to have them working with us.
Moving away from draconian business regulation (always a favourite topic for the aardvark bloggeur), H.Art - although still many months away - has been occupying my mind much in recent days. First off there was the need for registration, and yesterday Sarah met with many of the participants and had a good chat about what we are proposing. Needless to say it will all be fantastic, and represents something of a departure for us. For more details check our events page on the website.
Tuesday I picked up another dozen boxes of dvds, and I am reliably told that now that will be it (needs to happen before we become a dvd emporium). Also picked up some fantastic travel, and literature titles, which will start to filter into the shop when I have two seconds to process them.
Yesterday I went to Plymouth to pick up 1,200 art and design books, and they are now sitting pretty in the warehouse ready for me to have a look at them when I have a few seconds (have decided that only getting a single arthur aardvark clone will not be enough).
Have just had a pause from this blog caused by Simon Dorrell coming into the shop. Simon was bringing in the new Bryan's Ground leaflet, which contains the news that this year it will be open longer (from 17th April until mid-August). If you have any interest at all in gardens, then I cannot urge you strongly enough to visit Bryan's Ground. It is an absolute joy and Simon and David have created a garden space that is unique and ever-changing. Why not combine a visit to BG with one to the Judge's Lodgings in Presteigne - one of the country's most unique tourism venues.
