Last weekend of Shropshire Hills Art Exhibition, and opening next week of 'The Solstice'
For any-one who has not had the chance to view our contribution to Shropshire Hills Art Week 'Worlds and OtherWorlds', the exhibition will still be on show all weekend. We have exceeded our previous highest sales total, and it has been wonderful to hear the comments of the many hundreds of visitors who have been through.
I am particularly thrilled that we managed to show two such wonderful wood carvers as Paul Caton and Kim Davies. One of the highlights of next year's exhibition programme will be an extended show of Paul Caton's work, which will showcase his extraordinarily varied talents.
Next Saturday sees the opening of 'The Solstice' exhibition which brings together works from the Solstice group of painters who all live in the Welsh Marches. I am so looking forward to working on the hang this week, and to seeing in the flesh pictures that I have mostly just seen in transparencies. The show only runs from the 24th of June to the 2nd of July and I would therefore urge you to come and see it early on.
Last week we purchased five substantial groups of books on almost every subject under the sun including children's non-fiction, philosophy, classics, travel and popular fiction. I've also had in many more music CDs, so there is no shortage of things to look through. We are now going to have something of a buying pause whilst we attempt to assimilate what we have purchased.
In July it will all start again with a big purchase of academic history in the middle of the month.Don't forget there are lots of events on in Aardvark over the summer. For a full programme check out the website.
