Can we really be thinking about next year's Food Fair
Spent yesterday afternoon with Ben from Visual Works working on the leaflet for next year's food fair. It seems crazy early to be doing this, but we do like to start the promotional cycle in time for the Ludlow Food Fair in mid-September.
It is always difficult thinking so far in advance - I am not even bringing myself to think about Christmas yet, let alone next summer, but its necessary if one is to be able to book the people you want to get involved. Next year we are very pleased to have James Strawbridge star of ITV's 'The Hungry Sailors' and 'Saturday Farm' to open the fair and judge the Kotlich cooking competition. James is something of a rising star with TV projects, books and his own food company all underway. Also confirmed for next year are our musical performers - The Whisky River Quartet. This is the latest incarnation of Martin Blake's many musical ventures, and features a fantastic range of instruments including the penny whistle. We have long wanted to get Martin to play at the fair as we are all big fans of his Cajun and Roots influenced music, so it fantastic to have him confirmed for 2014. More announcements will follow over the next few months, so watch this space!
