It was two weeks before Christmas and right through the bookshop
Maybe I need to believe this, given the year we have all had and the prospects for 2021, but I really do feel that people around here are starting to think about Christmas and get into the spirit. I have had some really nice conversations with people this week and I have felt particularly pleasedd to be able to talk to people who are suffering the loss of a loved one, because being a community resource has always made up part of the Aardvark DNA. It was something that my late friend and colleague Edward was particularly good at.
Sadly we will not be running our Christmas Fair tomorrow and I know having talked to many of our customers how deeply that loss is felt. For me the fair has always marked the beginning of the last push to the holiday season - and has also been a valuable opportunity to purchase presents given how little time I get out of the shop at this time of year.
However rest assured that the Aardvark Christmas Fair - and most of our other seasonal events - will be back in 2021!
In the meantime we will be open as usual until closing time on Christmas Eve, and will then re-open on the 27th and will be open until the 31st. As usual we will closed on the 1st, but will be open again on Saturday the 2nd.
