Civil War Weekend continues, H.Art, Literary Ludlow, Launch of 'False Lights'
Day one of the Civil War Weekend went very well, with a good crowd for both sieges and a very successful Barbacue for the re-enactors in the evening ( you haven't lived until you have made potato salad for 120 hungry Civil War enthusiasts. If you are interested in history, or local history, or just like witnessing a barny why not come and see us.
Whilst we are in the midst of matters Civil War today, our thoughts are also moving towards early September when we have a raft of fantastic events in and around Aardvark.
First up is this year's H.Art exhibition 'Warp and Weft'. This combines textile makers, artists and craftsmen and includes a number of contributors who we have not shown before at Aardvark. I am particularly excited by working with Jenni Stuart Anderson whose rag rugs I first encountered when I moved to Herefordshire in the 1980's. Jenni has been refining and developing her work for many years, and is a well known author and work shop leader.
Then over the same weekend we are creating a pop up bookshop for the Ludlow Food Festival. Under the banner 'Literary Ludlow' there will be a full bookshop with a massive stock of food, gardening and home titles, together with an exciting programme of author interviews conducted for us by Peter Burden.
Then perhaps the most exciting of all we will be carrying out a launch for Katy's new book 'False Lights' published under her nom de Plume 'K J Whittaker'. We have followed the writing of this book from its earliest genesis and we are extremely excited to see it coming to fruition. Come and join us for the celebration on t he 15th of September from 6-8pm.
