Big thanks to all who made Easter so fantastic!
Big thanks to all who made Easter so fantastic!
I just want in this blog to thank all who made Good Friday and Easter Saturday so fantastic in the bookshop. That is our two wonderful artists Paul Caton and Paul Bearman, our brilliant Aardvark team (Annie, Serena, Bucky, Katie S, Aine, Paul and Tadhg), the stallholders - and how lovely it was to have Kim from the Cottage Herbery back here for another Easter Hurrah -and most of all our brilliant Aardvark customers (without whom there would of course be no shop).
When we finally left the shop at 8.00pm on Saturday night we were so proud of what we had all achieved, and my only regret is that we could not accommodate more people in the café (Saturday was definitely not a day for sitting outside!)
For any-one who hasn't yet seen the double sculpture exhibition there are still two weeks to come and see it. We received a great fillip when the Hereford Times gave the exhibition a big write up on Thursday, and at the launch there were press photographers taking numerous photographs for the local press. It truly was a fantastic project from start to finish, and I am so glad that we were able to make some sales for two such talented artists.
But this is only the first day of April and there is so much more to come this month. Next week we will be up at the London Bookfair finding out about what's happening in the book trade and hopefully bringing back some fantastic books and products. All the cards we bought at the Spring Fair are now here and in the shop - including the wonderful pop-up cards made by Forever Cards in Ross on Wye. Then in May things will be even busier with the launch of our blockbuster show 'The Art of the Print', a brilliant Jazz evening on the 11th of May (tickets from Aardvark or direct from Simon Deeley), and at the end of the month what is shaping to be our biggest ever Flea Market on the 28th of May.
So much to look forward to - now if the sun would just start shining again ....
