Theology Books and sunny weather
At the weekend I bought a very good collection of academic theology and biblical studies, and whilst I have been off for a couple of days, these have been processed onto the shelves - unfortunately leaving a large number in my too be photographed pile.
These days we are trying to ensure that the jacket of every book that sells for £10 or more is shown on the website ( we have already a number of photographs of other titles on the site ), which means that there is now a permanent pile of books waiting for scanning and uploading in the office. It looks as if some overtime will need to be put in if Ethel Aardvark is not to disappear beneath the evergrowing piles of books.
For the last week we have had some short passages of brilliant sunshine, and it is amazing how much the landscape is transformed by the simple substitution of dark rain clouds for beams of sunlight. All the closed roads have now been open for more than a week, although when we drove to Discoed for a wonderful Baroque concert on Monday night it was noticeable that there was still quite a lot of water on the carriageway.
My researches into the firm of John Norton and Sons have been continuing, and I have discovered that many of the company's records are now stored in the Shropshire Archives in Shrewsbury. A trip to Shrewsbury is therefore in the offing, and who knows perhaps a diversion to Tanners on Wyle Cop!
