Winter Event, False Lights Review, Aardvark in 2018
With a week to go before next week's 'Winter Event' we are very much looking forward to welcoming Bill Sewell, the supremo at Hereford's All Saints Café as well as Trevor Davies and his wonderful Vibes/Guitar trio (as ever featuring Dayne on bass). Trevor has been a stalwart at Aardvark over the years and his music is never less than enthralling. Bill will be visiting us in the morning, and Trevor will be starting a little later than usual at 12 noon.
As many of you will know, Katy who has worked at Aardvark for some years published her first novel for adults 'False Lights' in September. Yesterday the book received a rave review in the Daily Mail (click on link to read it now). The reviewer referred to the novel's 'excellent writing and characterisation', alongside other compliments. The Paperback will be out in February and Aardvark will be marking its publication in a big way!
The second half of November is when we start to think about next year's events programme, and we already have many fantastic treats pencilled in. Details of the 2018 programme will go up on the website in December. I am particularly looking forward to our blockbuster show 'The Art of the Print', which will bring together prints from contemporary artists, as well as from artists of the past, and will attempt to demystify much of the confusion surrounding different types of print. Not to be missed.
Lastly, those of you who applied for our temporary café assistant post, thank you for your interest. We have appointed someone and she starts next week!
