Website, 'The Flower Garden', Easter Garden Event, lots and lots of books
Last week was kind of crazy with lots of things going on at the same time and a return to full-on winter weather. We spent Thursday dodging the snow showers and heading out to the Visual Works to look through their designs for our new website. I am so impressed with the work that they have done and can't wait for our new website to go live next month. A beautiful new design, lots of new features, a simplified book search facility, a gallery feature for all our exhibitions and much much more. A major step forward for Aardvark and long overdue.
Meanwhile, when not working on the website, we have been working through the large piles of recent book purchases that have come into Aardvark. We only have another 7 boxes until we have finished putting on everything that we bought at the London Book Fair and I am down to three tables of books from recent second-hand purchases. We have a week to clear everything through so next week will be just as busy as the one past.
Moving onto other topics, we have also been working on some of our forthcoming events and next up will be our first exhibition of the year: 'The Flower Garden'. This combines work on a from four artists - two of whom we have not shown before. We will also be launching Sabina Rüber's new book, entitled 'The Flower Garden': she will be with us on Saturday, to sign her book, and signed copies will be available during the exhibition.
Then on Saturday we have the return of the Trevor Davies Trio, this time with vocalist Deborah Rose, amazing flowers and plants from the Cottage Herbery and a chocolate extravaganza in the café from Jo Bebbington. Not to be missed for the sweet-toothed among us!
Not only that, but Ethel Aardvark has invited the Lemoinster and Ludlow campaign group, Extinction Rebellion, to have a stand at our Easter Saturday event! If, like her, you are worried about the environment, then do come along and talk to them about what we can do to avert the crisis!
But mostly Aardvark is all about the books and I think at the moment we have one of our best ever selections. And not just great books, we also have hundreds of CD's, cards and other gift items. A veritable cornucopia, and all situated in some of the most beautiful countryside in the world.
