Iceland is up, and will open tomorrow!
A generally quiet day in the bookshop - enlivened by a nice antiquarian sale to an American bookseller - has given us a chance to finish getting the wonderful Iceland Exhibition up.
This year we have truly had one of our most varied exhibition programmes ever, with some wonderful treats to come. Iceland offers a fantastic exploration of this remarkable country, in painting, sculpture and even textiles. Diana Nuttall has produced a fantastic range of pictures from postcard size to really large canvasses, whilst Andrew Eastwood has excelled with some extraordinary bird scultures. As ever items are very reasonably priced and would make a wonderful addition to any home.
In between stints in the café ( even when the bookshop is quiet the café seems to carry on), I have been listing books and even buying a few more books for stock - of the buying of books there is no end.I have discovered another large pile of Folio Society Books, and even more railway titles, so if you are interested in either of these Aardvark is certainly the place to visit at the moment.

I cannot over-emphasise how much I am looking forward to this year's event. It was probably Edward's favourite Aardvark event - even in the year when the castle went up in smoke - and I can still picture him in my mind at the Barbacue we have in the evening for the re-enactors. It appealed to his inner child - never that far from the surface - and in everything we do here I try capture a little of his spirit
