Fantastic opening to Shropshire Hills Art Week
Fantastic opening to Shropshire Hills Art Week
After a tremendous amount of work by Andrew, Shannon, this years Shropshire Hills Art Week Exhibition - entitled From Clee to Heaven in honour of Housman - opened with big crowds of people, and a flurry of sales. 15 artists showed their works, and the effect is extremely powerful.
The exhibition is open until the 14th of June and so there is plenty of time to catch it if you couldn't make it this morning.
Amongst the works that caught my eye were some wonderful small pieces by Lottie O'Leary ( shown here ). Also some wonderful works by Jane Keay and Diana Nuttall. All in all a fantastic advertisement for the strength of artistic talent in the area. Many congratulations to Jules the SHAW organiser for bringning the whole event together.
Following SHAW we have an exhibition inspired by the landscape of Iceland, so summer at Aardvark will once again be filled with art!
Many many new titles coming through at the moment, so if you are interested in Folio Society Books, Railways, Travel or gardening it will be well worth your while popping in. This has been one of the most concentrated periods of buying I can remember for some time, and it is great to see the bookshop heaving with superb new titles.
