Japanese Single book bookshop
Wonderful article in today's guardian about a bookshop that only sells one book at a time ( www.theguardian.com/books/2015/dec/23/japanese-bookshop-stocks-only-one-book-at-a-time ). Even better are some of the comments below. My favourite was by 'Madranon': I shall open a chip shop/I shall sell one chip per week/Only to the most deserving customer./The transaction shall be sombre./The chip will be wrapped in rice paper./And not consumed./For the chip will not be made from a potato./But... from ... stone.
Also enjoyed Chris Evans this morning. Realised that if I had to make a choice on best Christmas song between Bing Crosby/David Bowie and the Ramones, I would find myself choosing Bing.
Lots of customers through the shop today, also still selling a good number of books online. May continue with current stocking policy therefore, and not turn Japanese just yet.
Happy Christmas to all our customers! The Bookshop blogger shall return sated from too much turkey and ham ( and hopefully some good Christmas present reading ) next week.
