Busy week, peculiar nature of media, Lots going on in April
It has been a more than usually busy week here in Aardvark land. The Easter event went really well - amazingly well given the awful weather, and it has been busy almost every day since. Vast amount of cakes have been consumed and so it was that Dawn arrived this morning with 7 new cakes for the weekend. Please do come in and help us eat them, unless you wish the Aardvark staff to be as big as a house.
Yesterday I found myself being interviewed as a typical small business person by a variety of BBC Radio and TV outlets. When you live out in the depths of the countryside and run a bookshop it is a strange experience to be suddenly picked and taken notice of by the Londoncentric broadcast media. Many thanks to the staff I dealt with on Radio 5 Live and to those at BBC Worcester who were extremely kind and tolerant to a media novice.
The April calendar is looking very busy, with a big delivery of art books next week, another big delivery of books from the London Bookfair the week after, and our fifth map annual map exhibition opening on the 30th. I don't want to give anything away about the latter, but in some ways it will be our most ambitious exhibition yet. If you are interested in maps or the history of the area I would urge you to come and see it, and if you are thinking about making a purchase it is always good to arrive on the first day as competition can be fierce.
