Notes:1st Hardback Published posthumously in 1967 by Michael Joseph (CS Forester died in 1966). This appears to be a First Edition Hardback. The text runs to 254 pages of which the first part (20 chapters) contains the biography and the final section of the book contains what is enigmatically called "some personal notes" and which is a reprint from The Hornblower Companion. The book is prefaced by a single page note with an introduction. Regarding condition there is no DW (I don't know if there was one originally) The cover is blue cloth and board with silver gilt lettering to the spine. The spine has a few small marks and spots (possibly ink) These are visible but not imo significant. There is a very small amount of foxing to some page edges. Otherwise the cover is fine. The binding is tight and solid. Internally the flyleaf has a full page
